I love this post b/c I moved from an extremely rural area to a big midAtlantic city, (and now I live in a midAtlantic suburb that is supposed to be a city)

The farmer's markets are not great and a lot of the produce seems like its from far away, not to mention the timing is at a time I can't get there, only SUV driving, non-working stay at home women who crawl all over this city have time to get there.

ANYWAY, when I go "home" to visit my family we can get fresh, huge, and even organic vegetables grown w/in 10 miles of our house every day of the week until winter hits. Hurray for farm stands - even better than the farmer's market! I know where food is coming from, it tastes great, and the vegetarian lifestyle becomes even healthier and more delicious when I'm at home.
